I've wanted to try out a Case swayback jack since I first saw them a few years ago, but the main model I was interested in, with jigged chestnut bone and CV, is discontinued. There are still plenty of swayback jacks and gents in Case's stainless, but I haven't seen any with chestnut bone or CV for sale.

What I'd like to know is whether or not discontinued Case models are gone for good or not. If there's a chance of the chestnut CV sbj coming back into production sometime I'd rather hold off on buying any other version of the knife, there are plenty of other models by plenty of other manufacturers to hold me over.

Check the Case website or (removed non BF dealer member reference) and you can see whats currently being made and whats "in the vault" ( as in temporarily discontinued). Just because they are discontinued doesn't mean they are not available.

If you look hard enough, you can find them. I bought a new in box chestnut SBJ CV a few months back from a small store I found online.

Keep looking.

I likewise bought one NIB earlier this year from a lesser known online store.
(You'd have to find another. When I checked back a few months later they were out of stock.)

I just bought a NOS Swayback Jack in chestnut bone and CV about three weeks ago. I tracked it down at a hardware store in Texas. It was the last one in stock at that Case dealer.

I emailed you with a link to an online dealer who has them in stock.

Your Google Fu is strong Alnamvet68. Any chance that you could share that with one more member?

I decided to look a little harder after seeing the feedback in this thread, managed to find a website with two in stock after a lengthy search. I can't find feedback for the store so I'm hoping everything goes smoothly.

I also left you a visitor message with a link to the site, olywa

That's my favorite Case source, but they are not a Bladeforums-supporting dealer so you are not allowed to advertise for them here. You should remove the link from your post before a moderator does.

Since this has turned into a "where do I buy one?" thread I'm closing it. If you take the time to read the guidelines you'll see that this forum is for discussing the knives not where to buy them or how much they cost. For future reference, if you've purchased a knife from a BF dealer member and want to mention it, as part of discussing the knife, that's fine. I've already edited out two references to non BF dealers in this thread. That's enough.
