The LW version has served me well as my EDC but I was wondering why it was discontinued. I realize there are better small LW knives out there but the Walker isn't THAT bad.
Just hang around the Spyderco site a bit more. You will soon understand that Spyderco is constantly bringing new models and discontinuing old models. You miss the Michael Walker lightweight. I miss the the Calypso, Starmate, J.D. Smith, and lots of others.
Welcome to BFC. I've got a Ltwt/PE Walker that I use in my work-hours EDC rotation. It's a great little knife. I know what you mean about discontinued models but that's the price you pay when you patronize an innovative and cutting edge (pardon the pun) company like Spyderco.
A Walker Lt/wt was the first Spydie I bought at the first knife show I went to. I love that little knife and after five years it's still a regular in my EDC rotation.
It really is too bad. Its a nice little knife that carries easily and deploys really fast. The liner lock is the only thing I don't like about the Walker but I don't do any heavy duty cutting with it anyways. Oh well, that just means I should explore some of Spyderco's other fine offerings. The Native looks like a good alternative.
