I wanted to know if anyone knows how I could
get in touch with Brian Skelton from the Discount Knives web site. I have e-mailed his company with no response and I don't see a phone to call. Are they still in operation?

Keep emailing - Brian sometimes gets bogged down a bit - he's always gotten back to me in a couple of days.

Peter, you may want to check out the Good, Bad and Ugly forum. It seems that Discount Knives is a favorite topic.
 
Thanks for the info Keith. It seems that I'm not the only one to having a problem reaching Brian. I will try again with another e-mail.

I have been wanting to buy some knives through DK. I do not do buisness with any company that does not have a phone#. This is a shame, because as you are aware they have great prices. I just ordered three knives, one of them semi-expensive through BLKW. These would have probably been through them, if they were professional enough to have a reachable phone#. That's OK the folks at BLKW really take good care of me! RKBA!
 
There may be many legitimate reasons why Brian hasn't gotten back to you.

1. Maybe he's been under the weather.
2. He's on vacation -- everyone is entitled to one eventually.
3. His internet server is down.
4. Whatever

But he runs a legit company. It's called Discount Knives on the web, but it's really a registered business called Bo's N Lockers.

I've ordered from across the border many times and he's always delivered. My last purchase was a few months back when I bought a Spyderco Native lightweight.

I just placed an order with Discount knives.
The phone number that was given to me when I ordered was 1-888-4-A-Knife.
 
They seem to have great prices but I am not too sure the customer service is all that good. From the best of my knowledge it is run by one honest man trying to handle too much. I tried to buy a Chinook from them a while back. Sent an e-mail voicing my concerns based on what I read in the good the bad and the ugly forum. Got a great answer back, I replied saying I would like to go ahead and purchase one...Never heard back from them????
 
The prices are among the best you'll find anywhere. The customer service is hit and miss. I've ordered from him twice and both times there were delays and poor communication. Others have reported similar experiences. It's a legit business & he won't rip you off, but timely responses are not his strong point. If the low price is worth the hassle (for you) then by all means order. Note also that many people have dealt with DK many times and have had no complaints or problems at all. For myself, I'll probably spend a few dollars more at another outfit with better customer service in the future.
