What I call Guck, Pocket Lint, Dirt that seem to accumulate on ever thing I carry in my jeans, seems to really stick to the G-10 Handles on my CQC-7. Was trying to get the G-10 clean this a.m., and came upon an idea that worked. No damage was done to the g-10, and it looks like the day I fiesta took the knife out of the factory brush.

Simple solution was a discarded hard Nylon Toothbrush, I alway keep old toothbrush to detail the car. Had a new clean us done that remover all the GUCK, or Pocket Lint from my Emerson's G-10 with just a few strokes of the wrist.

Magic erasers, while not as cheap as an old toothbrush, work very well for cleaning g10.

Who cleans an Emerson????

I do,and I even clean my FIREARMS. THE WHY IS ALL WORK BETTER, SMOOTHER, AND MORE DEPENDABLE CLEAN & LUBRICATED.

Saw the video of the Glock 17 torture test, that showed you can beat up a Glock, and it will keep working.

Honestly I do not know why it get so much lint in my pockets, but lint is Guck.

WD40... the 8th wonder. :D

I honestly do not like WATER DISPLACER WD-40, as if you use it on metal that has moisture on it it forms a barrier to hold the moisture in. I use Frog Lube on Guns aka Firearms, (both modern and those who use real black powder) and Knives, and have never has a rust problem.

BTWReal Black Powder is very very corrosive, so you have to use lubricant that does not trap the corrosive black power to rust out metal.

I don't think people use WD-40 for lubrication other then getting the squeak out of a door hinge. It DOES work great for cleaning G10 as well as tape gunk from the blade. I just starting using Frog Lube on my 7 but only as a test. My wife has told me from the beginning that all you have to do to clean the knife is rinse it in the kitchen sink. I have when I've been using it in the garden. The mud and dirt rinse away and I let it air dry.

I love Frog Lube, I use it on my "7"

Is Frog Lube available over the counter, or Internet purchased usually?

I use WD to clean all kinds of stuff, including my G10 occasionally on my Emersons with a small scrub brush. Makes them somewhat black again and gets the dead skin cells of mine outta the depressions of the G10.

I then darken it back up with a drop or two of tire gel, spread with my fingers, and use Tuf Glide for lubing the pivot. That is my normal routine right now, has been for years. Love the smell of Tuf Glide, it smells "industrial" to me. I'm weird.

I'd like to try Frog Lube, if you guys like it I will, too. That's how I got turned on to Tuf Glide, this forum...
