Disk grinder attachment

I’m looking around to purchase a disk grinder. I was on try grits website and notice they sell a disk grinder attachment that appears to adapt a 2x72 belt grinder into a disk grinder. There’s not much information on their site explaining exactly what it is or how it works. This is really appealing to me as I am somewhat limited in space right now. Does anyone have any experience using this attachment? Is it worth the money, or should I just buy a separate disk grinder all together?

I got a separate AMK disc grinder earlier this year. I'm really happy with it and it doesn't take up much space. They have a video about ways to set it up.
It has a digital angle measure. I did most of the swedge on a couple Bowies before HT, then when they came back I was able to easily match the angle again. I did some perfect 45 degree angles on some wood also. The variable speed and reverse makes it pretty handy.
I'm not sure you could get that much control from an attachment...

Thanks, Richard. That AMK looks well built and very versatile. The only thing I don’t like about it is that is doesn’t have a miter gauge slot in the work table. I think that would be a very handy feature to have.

You might be able to find a recent thread where some of this was discussed. People who make folders have specific preferences for the table. I have enough trouble without getting into folders...

The recent thread might be the one I started awhile back. https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/9”-disc-recommendation.1725744/
I got the AMK as well and am very happy with it. The work table is nice to have when getting things square or at any angle the table can tilt to. I don’t frequently find the need for a miter but if I did I’d just clamp something square to the work rest at the angle I needed.
Yes, that's the thread. I have been clamping a square to the rest also and it works great.

Thanks guys. I did a search and that thread didn’t come up. Funny thing is, I’ve narrowed it down to the tru grit and amk. Seems like they each have their fans. I like the miter slot on the tru grit unit and the motor they use. But I like the versatility and price of the amk. Hmm, decisions, decisions...

I have the TG disc grinder and have the miter for the table and find it very helpful in making slipjoints.
It has become so key to my knifemaking I have a Nielson Disc system on the way.
