I managed to swing by on Sunday morning. Joe was now gone, taking care of his beloved dog.
Matt showed me this proto. Yeah it's rough, but it will be a HIT once they get it done.
I was NOT skilled or ready for the dial/button. :grumpy: The damn thing jumped out of my '
Art knife sensitive' grip and fell on the floor with Matt's laugh.
By Blade,
I'll be more ready, and so will this knife.
(Yes, I captured that
bloodthirsty Hartsfield sword. I escaped it's angry edge....)
Coop
This is a very special Sword for me
I commissioned it 13 years ago to commemorate the Birth of one of my daughters
It is probable the last sole authorship (before his so. Came to work back at the shop) Hartsfield Katana out there
It's dimensions and shape are everything my years training with swords brought me to
It has a long Tsuka (13 inches)
The Blade is 26 inches
It is so very sharp that ........... Go to 2 minutes of video

This sword was made late in PH's career and I believe it is one of the finest swords that he has ever made
When I received it it was wrapped in brown paper and the paper had blood on it
I immediately called Phill and inquired
He said in his haste packing the sword to send to me it cut him ....... In typical Phill fashion he wiped the blade off taped his hand and shipped my sword
He warned me to be careful ...... He said this sword was blood thirsty
There are many old tales of blades that cut their makers and at times these blades were dubbed evil.
To this day I have a lot of reverence for this blade ......... It is so wicked it scares me
I do. It let many people handle this sword and even though Jim handles blades more than I do I felt obligated to tell him the story and to let him know to be very careful
I like Jim
I would never ship this sword anywhere and I was glad to have this chance to drive it in and document it in all is glory with Cops exceptional work
Thanks to the Coopers
Jims son delivered it back to me in its sword bag and case with a wonderful smile
To see this exceptional young man walking through the show with a Katana in a case strapped on his back was a great moment and I wished I would of gotten a pic
I did leave the sword on display at the DISKIN USA table and did let a few folks handle it
If I had to go in to battle with a sword it is the one piece out of my fairly large Katana collection that I would grab
It just feels wicked

when Jims Pic comes in I will be doing a video on this piece
