It's in a beta stage, but give it a try.

First, click here

Then, measure the width of the black bar with a ruler, and enter the value in the text-box (in decimal format, so 2.25 instead of 2 1/4)

Then choose your model in the pulldown list and click on the button.

You will then see a new window with that model in actual 1:1 - 100% size.

:)

To see another model, first close the window, select another model and press the button again.

I checked 3 models (C29,C05 & C55) and they're pretty accurate. Maybe +/- 5% or so.

All feedback (also of course if you think a model doesn't appear in the correct size) is very much appreciated.

I also have no clue if this works in browsers like Netscape or on a Macintosh, so let me know if it doesn't.

Ted,
Worked for me with my Native III. You keep this up and we'll be able to order them and have the computer build them for us :)

Very cool! Delica and Meercat are perfectly sized, as I held them up to the screen...

Ted that's an awesome idea! I like it very much. I hate to be picky but you asked for feedback so I thought I'd point out that that the D'Allara is spelled wrong with an E in place of one of the A's. Please keep up the good work! Take care, Heath

Excellent job Ted, tried it out at work using NS4.78 and 7.1, Opera6 and IE5 running on NT and viewed on a 21" monitor - all worked well - matched my C38 and Jester perfectly. Tried it again just now at home, IE6 on XP and a 19" screen here, with a variety of knives from a D'fly to a Spyderhawk - good with all of them!

Accurate for my purposes.
Perhaps you can calculate this without measuring the screen by using the dpi measurement in Photoshop of the spydie photos?

ted, good job and good stuff. I'm sure Sal will be pleased - spyderco should have something like on their website (maybe even in 3D)...

thanks!

Calyth, I really need the measurement part.

I don't know if you're behind a 15" TFT laptop screen with a 1600x1200 resolution or at a 19" CRT at 1024x768...

ted,
works great! kudos!

interestingly, i discovered while checking my endura to the screen (pretty much a perfect fit) that the blade was magnetized slightly-it throws off my CRT a tad. so does my merlin-both knives are ATS-55. my GIN-1 dragonfly and my small kitchen/utility (not remembering the steel offhand) do not. coincidence?
