Display Case Foam

I'm wanting to build a wall mount display case for my knives. i want to use a foam that will accept an indentation of each knife so it is obvious where each knife goes and will help keep the knife "in" it's spot without falling out.

Suggestions? Ideas? Experiences?

Only thing that came to mind when I read this thread was thick styrofoam placed in the bottom of the display case. Press each knife in place and then cut the styrofoam indentation a little larger & cover with some type of cloth material & press each knife in again to stay. Did you check out the thread in the Buck knife forum I posted about my Buck collection? Jake Evans offered his solution to the 'sliding' knives in the display case.
