I made this today for my table at Blade. I would like to see any knife display stuff you guys have done.

I'm not that creative... I just use old antlers and leather... :grumpy:

Maybe I need to just let it go and see what happens...

That's a beauty, but a bit overwhelming for the knife pictured.

I'm glad you brought that up David... I was wondering the same thing. There is an urge in me to remove the two scrolls. Check out this poorly edited photo...

rick...i like it alot....maybe just the scrolls a little smaller and not so tall.....it compliments the knife really well.....i think not enough makers make stands.....ryan

Very cool, Rick. I think having the blade pass behind anything is taking focus away from the knife, though.

Rick, your so multi-talented. Hey listen, I put that sample on the saw today. I'll bring you some down along with some L-6.

Very cool. Great thread. Display stands are fun and some of my favorites are designed to be like the sword-in-the-stone types. Lead weights in the base, coat the tip of the knife with Vaseline and use epoxy to form perfectly around the tip.

That is very cool, Michael. The quillion dagger is classy!

Thanks for the pics.

I love the original stand Rick; I wouldn't remove anything. I was speaking to the knife size I think a larger knife or a scaled down stand would work better; just my $.02

Hey Rick, hope you haven't cut off the scrolls yet. IMHO you should keep them. I love the hemp wrap for cushion too - it's subtle but I like it.

So, guys - where are pics of your display stands? Rick asked for pics of your stands too, so better do it or else... Look at that snarl in his Avatar - do you want that mug standing over your bed at night? NO! That's right, so get to it.

On its own, the stand is a beautiful, flowing piece of art. With the knife in it, to me... it's kind of hard to see either piece (IMHO).

I think if you could have the scroll for the blade located a little differently (maybe turned downward) so it's not blocking a full on view of the blade, it would make it a grand slam. Just my humble opinion. :)

I sketched it out and the downward scroll looked pretty good, Nick..... so I went for it.

I think it flows much better, Thanks!

I think you've got it! Excellent!

By the way between you and Nick; both of you guys keep me entertained and amazed. Thanks!
