heck it is fun to see others toys and how they are put away...
i realy enjoyed seeing the ones at other buck a roos were i have been to their homes!! and no i dont spit on the floor! i am house broke!
i like seeing what others have come up with and getting advice
on hitting a issue with mine Haebbie gave me a great sujestion that worked!
i know other collectors out there need idears and want to see how others do it ... jest as i did ...
but to start this thread i will show mine ...
the first was not large enught from the start

the next set, chestnut, was from scratch

I submit the following project (with pics) that I completed today.

I obtained some weathered wood boards (as can be seen in several pics) from that popular auction site (amazing what you can get on there). Next I bought some cut nails from a home improvement store. As this was to be a "rustic" display I put the nails outside under an a.c. drip port to get rusty.
Next, I made a template of where nails should be placed so all suceeding boards would be the same.

Upon examination I decided it would not be a good idea to let the knives come into contact with the rusty nails so i put on little strips of felt....the stuff they put on the bottom of lamps and things. This turned out to be the PIA part of the project an took some time....but well worth it.
So as not to split the weathered wood i used the template and a punch to mark the wood then drilled starter holes. The final step was to hammer home the nails at an "eyeball" angle.

When I went to set up I found the display board to be front heavy and this was corrected by little strips of velcro to hold in place (both back and bottom)

Finally, I moved shelves on an antique bookcase and installed a picture display light and hung the knives. Sorry about washed out pic of knives but flash sorta makes some of them shiny. btw...there are "incoming" to fill empty spaces and i have several more boards!!

wow i did not read far enught to see this thread but i wanted to say you have a great idear.. at first i was not at ease with the nails but as i read on the felt i liked it ...
