Been wanting to do something like this for a long time, well today I finally gathered up all the knives and displayed them in a curio cabinet.
I have to admit that some of these are my fathers, especially the balisongs. I think last count was about 75 knives.
I will be adding a few more shelves to it soon ;)

That would be great to be able to do that. Having two young boys (2 and 6 yr olds), this just would not work in my house, so I am jealous. That's quite the collection you have, I'm impressed! looks good in there. Mark.

I have a glass curio with a sliding door. It opens just over half way in each direction. When the door is closed there is a latch to keep it shut. The latch is part of the molding at the top of the cabinet almost six foot six above the floor. Should keep littler hands out.

jtice: Really nicely displayed. Well done. Props!

pyrguy: I have the same setup, but mine has no latch. I added a small folding latch and a small combo padlock right to the side.

It won't keep out a thief, but it will keep them from my son or guests. Might be a consideration on this one, too.
