Hey, Buck Collectors. We are at the Las Cruces Show displaying our Buck collection. The show opens tomorrow. I'll try to get you gents a few more photos before it's over. DM

Here's how it looked as they gave the 'close the doors' call. All show folks were ask to exit the building as security walked the aisles. I snapped this as we were covering it up.
We are looking forward to a good time tomorrow. This is our 21st showing of our Buck collection. There will be some crowded aisles tomorrow and partons with Buck questions.

I look forward to seeing tomorrows pictures David - hope you have a great show! OH

Rebel, your right, they're certainly are. In these displays are all the twin sets in one and two line models and I'll lay out their sheaths tomorrow. Then all the 100 series knives, the 500 series and the 700 series. Plus, the Classics, the 110's and 112's of that era the Kalinga, Akouna, Empress Trio and a 2 line 106 hatchet. Then the sharpening stones Buck brought out and the sharpening guides of those times. You should see the show attenders that stop and gawk at the Buck knives which they didn't know Buck brought out during those 20 years. Thanks, DM

Very nice looking display you have going on there David. I'm sure you will enjoy the show. Is it primarily a Knife show or Gun and Knife? I go to both as often as I can, but have found I like the knife shows much better as a BCCI member and Buck knives enthusiast. Enjoy!!

Thanks David for representing Buck and the Collectors Club. Great looking display and hope you have a great time.

I will be looking forward to more pictures as the show gets started.

I'm betting the pictures will be great. Be nice to see that many at one time. Wish we had similar shows near where I live.

Mel, it is primarily a gun & knife show. The only designated 'Knife show' we have in our state is held in Albuquerque. A larger show. We do this show 2 times a year and the one in Silver City. These are convenient for us to do. The one in Albuquerque would be much more costly as I bear all the expenses. However, folks respond well to our display here. As many have never seen such a dedicated display before. So the response we see is of shock. That someone would haul these cases nearly 300 miles just to show some folks these models. Most never knew Buck made all these. When you display at a big show you can be swallowed up in 'knife over-load'. And no display stands out to patrons, they merely walk by getting thru the show and never notice a well arranged display. At the show we attend we are the only ones doing this. Still, the more remembered part is bringing a pleasant personality. Patrons will remember and look for you at the show every year and bring you their Buck knife to discuss. Plus, all kinds of stories with it. DM

ged, thanks. I'll try to put my best foot forward as we greet people and my wife will bring her magnetic personality. A winning combination. Thru the years we've fielded some odd questions but now not much rocks the boat. Thank you for your vote of confidence. We'll try to represent you gents well. DM

Joe, our state is a rural state too. And most folks don't get an opportunity to see 'any' knife display. Much less talk with someone that knows about the models, company, steel changes, ect.. So, should they pause at our table we try to give them their monies worth in 15 minutes. The gate fees for these shows is usually 6$ a person. Then should they get a sandwich, chips & drink they've spent over 30$ for a couple. This is comparable to an outing with entertainment. So, we try to be sensitive and give them some substance and not just eye candy. Thanks, for the support. DM

What David is not telling is that he has to pay for the table to display his knives. The wife and I went on a adventure and we took my display down there from OK. The table was only large enough to hold my display and one box of his knives. He didn't tell me he had to pay for the table till the end of the show. He was being gracious host. I went to the show officials and discussed a three or four BCCI table display but received little encouragement on help with a discount, their main goal as a community organization was to make money and their tables were always sold out with a waiting list. David even tried to get them to work a deal for a few tables the next year after this with no luck.

For a year a large knife dealer moved a big show to the DFW area, David, Evil Eye, HKingdom, others and myself were going to get a SW US area big time BCCI display going. But, alas the arena folks were not as friendly as the show producer thought they should be an moved his show to KY the next year.
Most shows want fees to put up a display, which gives you selling ability. But, some shows also would have people who what to just display their knives. Consequently, folks with smaller displays not interested in selling guns or knives, don't display and then do not get to meet somewhere and group up with their displays and enjoy the experience.
David does have a small little corner of his table where his wife shows her engravings and talks business, but the rest is just display. So , in a since he is paying his own way for displaying Buck knives and promoting BCCI membership. 300Bucks

That's a great looking display David. After reading 300's post, it's also a great thing for you to do for Buck and the BCCI. Thank you David.

David,
I for one want to say thanks for taking the time and money to display/promote Buck knifes. Here in the northeast I have never seen a buck display at any gun/knife show. As you said I think it would a great eye opener to many. Most are knife makers selling their knives or vendors selling "cheaply made" knives. Great job and thanks for the pics.

David,

That is really awesome of you to do this! Thank you for all that you do to encourage and educate the masses about Buck Knives! I wish that I could visit a collection like this!

I wish I lived closer, I would love to take a closer look and chat about Buck knives. I would leave a tip in a tip jar too for your efforts. I guess I'll have to settle for the virtual tour. I can't wait for the pictures.

It would be nice if someone at Buck saw this and offered to pay for the table. There is some real promotional value here!
