Displaying Sebenzas: open or closed?

Hey there, this might be a stupid question, but still ....

I have 8 sebenzas that I want to display on a stand and I am not sure what is best for the knives' health (lock tension, etc) longterm .... Should they be displayed closed or with the blade deployed?

Thanks and apologies if this is posted somewhere else, I could not find anything about it.

in terms of the lock tension, it doesn't matter. Springs wear from being compressed and relaxed repeatedly. Leaving it one way or the other shouldn't do any harm. If you leave it open, and there's an impact to the blade (akin to spine-wacking), this is where damage can occur. You'll also have live blades on display that could potentially fall and injure someone (or they could be accessible by children). Those are the only things with which you'd need to be concerned.

In terms of looks, definitely leave them open.

Thanks for your response! It will be behind locked glass, and I am going to go with closed, just to be safe ...

Thanks again!
