I was wondering how modern razor manufacturers put edges on about a zillion blades a week. I thought that I might have to nose around the PR departments of some companies to find someone who would comment. I tried gillette.com with no insight, but hit paydirt at Schick's website. Here is a link to their description of modern razor craft. It goes on for quite a few web pages. I was impressed that they use a mild cryo quench on their blades as well as chrome and lube them. Take a look. If anyone has other links into the industry I'd find it interesting. Another high class point in the Schick article is that they freely give credit to Wilkinson for originating stainless steel razor blades. Maybe there is some interesting Wilkinson lore out there.
