I'm very surprised to say I'm disappointed in a Becker product. I was away doing some army stuff for a few months and decided on a bk16 a bm710 and a leatherman. Well he 16 is a nice knife don't get me wrong in fact I like it a lot. The sheath on the other hand is a different story. I used the stock sheath because well I thought it was nice and serviceable the knife won't fall out. The pocket was used for the multitool. Less then 2 weeks later the pocket wore through, and got holes in it. This was the first time the knife had been worn on the belt. Was to say the least very mad, I understand its not made in the USA, that being said its built to a specific standard. I've owned and still own a few backers, the 16,9,,5,2 and they are all serviceable even the pocket worked, the 16 on the other hand almost failed immediately. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as harsh, but its frustrating when a piece of kit fails, when its used in conjunction with anther piece.

That seems kind of odd for it to wear out that quick. What were you doing that caused that much abrasion to the outside of the pocket?

Sounds like the sheath may have just been defective. I would contact KABAR and see what they say.
It does happen, even with KABAR and Beckers that time to time something fails, or didnt meet or exceed the original specs. KABAR is very good about making sure that when that happens they make it right.

They may even ask you to mail the old sheath to them but I'll bet they get you a new one asap.

well, Becker did not fail you. that's the knives ;)

KaBar makes the sheaths. 2 weeks?

can we have pictures? and pictures of the multi-tool. that sounds VERY weird.

were you crawling on your belly? what?

contact KaBar on Monday. they should do the right thing for you.

on the other hand, i'd recommend cutting the pocket off, and then using a rated pocket to carry your multi-tool attached to that.

the sheath itself should do the knife well.

The sheath does do the knife well, yes a full size multi tool, but I did not force it in, it fit fine with no forcing, don't know how to post pictures I'm very computer illiterate.
No army crawl on this ex.
It was weird that's why I posted it.
I'll see if I can get a friend to post some

I think you meant that the sheath failed, and not the 16? Anyway, it's odd. I find the stock sheath for the tweeners well built and of a good quality. Pictures would be adequate.

Yes my mistake the 16 is fantastic. Just need to make some liners for the handles and it's a gem. Becker knives are awesome and nothing i said was meant to be against there knives, just the sheath
