Clayton,

Just unscrew the knife to clean it - remember where the bits go to put it back together. It is a very simple process and sould only take 10 minutes or so for the whole process using a standard screwdriver.

I use Sentry Solutions Tuff-Cloth on all my knives - some of the other Suspects may have other ideas.

Ed

I use Tuff Cloth on the blades to fight corrosion, but I find to lubricate the pivot I use Militec-1. Works really well. Just be careful not to get any on the liner lock and blade mating surfaces.

I use marine tuff cloth on my emerson, this is because when I carry my emerson at my summer job, it is very hot and its inside the waist band and usually gets sweat on it.(THats why i got it with the black T finish) During the summer or when Im in florida I have completely disasembled the knife once a weak and cleaned it with fresh water and tough clothed it. So far no pitting, or rust.

I think after reading the posts i will use Miltec -1 on the pivot and o rings.

Clayton:

Firstly, welcome to the EKI Forum. As far as lubricant goes, I too use Tuff Cloth on my blades. I've recently started using 'Molly' on the washers and pivot screw area. Its done wonders on opening speed-especially on the 'waves'.

Make sure you refer to previous posts concerning re-assembly, that way you will avoid scraping liner problems. Good Luck!
