Recommendation? Dissatisfied with Civivi Pintail s35vn, what should I consider to replace it?

Hello,
A couple years ago I bought a Civivi Pintail new. I never took to it. The blade binds up when opening and closing. I tried loosening the nut that holds it but that caused play in the blade, so either play or binding, no smooth action. Wish the handle was a tiny bit longer for my big hands but it's ok. The lock is stiff and never really loosened up and the jimping on the lock it is rough. Oh and the clip sucks :) I think I paid about 85 bucks for it.

Anyway, enough whining about it. What sub-3-incher should I look at to replace it? I like the basic formula - small flipper that's supposed to be decent quality. Would like to spend maybe less that $120.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. Was thinking maybe the We Elementum - I know that's above my price range. How do people feel about that knife? Seems like it gets good video reviews

I'd you're dissatisfied with the quality of your knife, my recommendation would be to not buy another one from the same company...🤨
saw a couple videos comparing the civivi and we versions of the elementum that claimed the we version was significantly higher quality

I usually associate both, Civivi and We as "bargain" companies - meaning you get a lot for your money. But, I do not consider them as a prime example of good quality.

Never owned Civivi or We knives so I can't say much. I only have a friend who has Banter knife and normal Elementum. They seem to be fine (decent), but they pale in comparsion to either Recon1 or Delica.

IMO - get Para 3 LW. Easy to flip, bigger handle, good steel and better quality.

Not a flipper per se but it has Flippy action - the Demo AD 20.5? That gomes to mind bc of the bigger (4.5") handle for a 3" blade

My Pintail is centred and I like everything about it except how it fits my larger than usual hands. I'd like it a lot more if the handle was just a tiny bit longer.

A small folder that fits my hands well is the Kizer Mini Sheepdog. It's a little knife that punches well above its length.

I went with the assumption that you did not want a knife from the same company. Personally I own only one knife from this company, a Civivi Conspirator in damascus and micarta, and it's flawless, perfect in every way, so I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another of their model if I was so inclined, or recommend them. But I only have a sample size of one.

WE has kind of set the standard for that price range over the past five or six years, it's extremely rare to get a lemon out of them and when you do the warranty service isn't one where you screw around with a known problem knife, you swap it out for a fresh one with the vendor and they deal with the RMA process themselves. Like a modern production item, not one from the past, which you don't live in.
