Anybody ever take one of these apart?
I have a mini spearpoint which I love and plan to abuse.
I'm sure it'll get gunked up eventually, enough so that it has to come apart for cleaning and lube. And I don't want to send it back to Buck every time.
Any hints, warnings before I attempt this?
Thanks,
Lenny

If I remember correctly, Mick Strider posted once to use brake cleaner only, don't take it apart, wipe in down then oil it accordingly. You can always ask on the Strider Forum.

Since the Buck Strider is of open back design, you should not need to disassemble it in order to clean it. Taking it apart is not a hard thing to do, but you'll void the warranty.

OK, I took your advice and left it alone.
It had a little more blade play (both vert and horiz) than I like in my blades. Especially for a $160 knife.
Back to Buck it went.
I've heard nothing but praise about their service so I can't wait to get it back.

I have disassembled my Buck Strider to sand off the bead blast finish. I reassembled using the Chris Reeve teflon lube and it works better than ever. I may have voided the warranty but mine has yet to let me down and I have had it going on a year now.
:D
