Today I wanted to share a little a little known sidebar about Buck Knives. Distinctive Knives Corporation of El Cajon California was formed by Dick Jack and his son Dale. They were a distributor of Buck Knives that sold Aurum etched Buck 110’s This Company was in operation the years 1978 till 1986 or until Buck took over and did Etchings in-house. Marshall Rugg did the design work on the blades and bolsters, Craig Meir did the promotion and Dale was in charge of shipping. They would take Buck 110’s design them and then have Aurum etch and gold fill the blades. They would package some in a signature presentation walnut box that was lined with blue felt. You may come across some of their knives if you are familiar with the Aurum etched Police knives. (California Highway Patrol, Dallas, San Diego, Michigan Lawman and Los Angeles). They did the short run of the Mercedes Gull Wing. Pictured is one of the walnut boxes, an advertisement and the sticker that was on the bottom of the walnut display box. This little piece of Buck history that is not well known and if any of you would like to add anything to this story it would be appreciated.

300 - is that a one off prototype? I have never seen one like that. Thanks for showing it. Love the deep etched blades.

Hi Thanks for the good history! I had heard a distant fuzzy version of it
One note about Arum Corp
I lived 2 hrs from there once and the site of the company is still a EPA supper site and local water wells had to be shut down.
