I sat and watched todays news. I try and only watch for anything new. Our hometown heros ( firefighters and police) finding more survivors. More information on who had anything to do with this tragedy. I try not to watch the media make stories out of other peoples loses. So like I have been doing on the hour I turn the news on to see any new developments.
Well this time I was outraged. CNN was interviewing people US citizens in an open forum. I turned the station to hear a person talk about how we are all living in this world together, and how violence is not the answer to solve this attack. He went on to say that we must find other ways to live together in this world.
Well I say to you. Tell that to the thousands of people who lost there family and loved ones. Tell that to the hundreds of orphans who will never see there Mothers or Fathers again. Tell that to the thousands of people who have risked there lives to save those who still may be alive in the ruins of what these terrorist have left.
I am ashamed that there are people like you in this great nation that feel that this act should go untouched. That we should not use violence to defeat violence. That the thousands of American lives lives lost mean nothing to you.
I sat in my backyard tonight with my wife and son and we talked about this tragedy. I told my wife and son "Why don't we have a US Flag hanging from our house every day? Why did we wait for something like this to happen, to try and get a flag?" And I thought to my self it's not because I'm not proud to be an American. I show my support everyday. It's because we must now realize that America must come together as one. We must realize that terror can strike us this close to home. We must support what ever action we have to take to make our great nation safe again.
There is no time to feel sorry for what will happen to those who are responsible for this. We must support what our country will do to these cowrds that think they can beat us.
When I here what I did on CNN today all I can think of is people who think that nothing violent should be done to these people, they should be loaded on a boat or a plane and flown to Afganistan to live. Let them see if they will live the lives us Americans have fought so hard to keep and live. Our freedom in America has come at a great cost throughout history. We have fought and died many a battle so that we can live the way we do today. And if any one who claimes to be an American wants to challange that, then I say to you. Go live in the third world countries that support the terrorist that caused this great tragedy. If you think that this should go without action then that is where you deserve to live. Without the freedom millions of Americans have fought for.
I heard Presidant Bush say today " That anyone who wears the uniform be prepared to go to war" Sir I say to you that anyone who wears the uniform is already prepared to go to war. I say that if we don't go to war to defend our great nation than I don't want to wear the uniform anymore.
We will overcome this great tragedy. Hopefully this has opened the eyes of those who don't believe. Or to those who believe that we can't be touched on our own soil. Life as we know it will never be the same.
United we stand. Together we will prevail.
These are my thoughts.
