My cousin does allot of snorkeling. I want too buy him a better knife then what he has. Price up too $100. I've done a little goggle search on these knives. Need input from those that dive or snorkel. Plus who too buy from. Needs too be a fixed blade. One that straps too your leg.

Spyderco Salt. It has H1 steel, where most of the carbon has been replaced with inert nitrogen. The result is that it absolutely will not rust, even if you store it in a jar of vinegar for a month (people have done this). For Spyderco's, Cutleryshoppe and Yourcornerstore are pretty good.

The Spyderco is an excellent suggestion, if he likes a folder. When I snorkel I always prefer a fixed blade. My favorite for scuba diving is definitely my Buck 187 Intrepid chisel point. A lot of people say these don't have good enough rust/corrosion protection, but I just clean and dry my knife after a dive, and have never had so much as a spot. These aren't made anymore, but you can usually pick them up on eBay for around 100 bucks. For snorkeling, my Intrepid is just to big, and so you will probably wanna use something smaller. I use a Buck 185 Triburon, but they are very hard to get, and more than 100 dollars. I also love to use my Buck/Mayo Kaala, but some say its to small. And it really is little, at under 7 inches. So a couple suggestions would be a Kershaw 1006K for a inexpensive but decent knife. It is 420 J2 steel though, which may be under par for corrosion depending on what kinda stuff your cousin does. Otherwise a CRKT CR2604 is a nice little knife, with AUS 8 steel. These are both in the 40-50 dollar range. Of course neither of these are all that great, but I have friends with them, and they perform really nice for the money. Another buddy has a Benchmade 110H2O, and I do love that knife. It runs for around 100 if I remember right, and is super nice. Hope this helps some.

any spyderco with H1 steel if hes lazy or doesnt want to add more cleaning time to his equipment

or

any knife with a high polish and can be disassembled easily

Without naming any makes or models what I look for in a sport diving knife is something with about a 5" blunt chisel tip blade with a serrated back edge and line cutter built in to the blade. Titanium has come down in price so it's worth getting if you think you won't be able to rinse off your knife right after diving. Most of the time I use my Aqualung Master Knife (also called a dive machete) but that's because of the type of diving I do and isn't very practical for snorkeling, but if you're going for the SEAL look then don't let me stop you from getting one. Most of the time I use EMT shears instead of my knife for cutting myself free from old fishing line and the EMT shears are becoming very popular with technical and cave divers. A pointy blade isn't needed unless you spearfish for dispatching struggling fish. You don't stand a chance against Jaws and there are no ninja frogmen with poison tipped spearguns lurking behind the sea weed. Smaller knives are best for most diving but the Aqualung Master does make you look cool strapped to your leg and act as a chick magnet. That's the main reason I wear one lol.

UK Dive Knives have titanium knives at a good price. Not as good as a steel blade, of course, but zero maintenance required. Not even a rinsing.

I haven't heard anyone mention the 551H20...haven't ever used that steel and I'm about a million miles away from salt water anyway. But maybe something to reflect on.

I have the Grip 551H2O that I picked up as an all around fishing knife. I don't see any rust, but the blade did stain after cutting the first bait mullet with it. Still stained, but doesn't seem to cause any problems. I've used it for beach fishing, where I like to rinse the knife in the surf after cutting bait. I love the axis lock, but I don't think it's the best lock for this, too much sand to get in bad places.

I'd definitely stick with your fixed blade idea, and the Spyderco Salt fixed blades sound like a great choice.

if your looking for a bit wider blade over the H2O grip, the Benchmade 111 is pretty good, just got it, love it
