dive knife

while this knife is probably not a schrade the name is close. this is a knife my father obtained when he was in the navy during WWII. if anyone has any info we would apprciate it. have looked at the tang and there is no stamping. the scabbard (?) has a stamping on it of A SCHRADERS SON. not sure if that is a person or a manufacturer. pretty sure it is a dive knife used by the guys who wore all the equipment.

What an awesome knife. Thanks for bringing it out for all to see.
 
Delmas, you'd do well to post it over in Bernard Levine's forum. You'll likely get some answers right away. Definitely a dive knife, for those who've never seen one that's a solid brass "sheath" that the knife screws into. Very Nice!

Not made by Schrade for sure, possibly it was one one of the Olean manufacturers, but I really can't recall.

Thanks for posting that picture. I'm a sport diver so that one in particular is really special. Do you have any idea about what kind of steel that is?
