I am looking at getting a diving knife for my dad for christmas. I started looking now because it seems that they are all so expensive. So far the only ones I have looked at are the following:

1) Mission MKT-MPS-TI
2) MPT-Ti
3) Parkaway Titanium Knife
4) Ocean Master Titanium Knife

As you can see all of them are made out of titanium. The only reason I have chosen to go that route is for the fact that they don't corode in salt water. To make matters even worse. When my dad is out of the water he is still near it, he live on the Texas coast gulf side. The first two are pretty expensive, and I am afraid of getting him a knife like that and him losing it.

I am just wondering if anyone has any better suggestions, and also knows a knife that will easily attach to his utility belt and not to his leg. It doesn't have to be made out of titanium, any knife that is corosion resistant would work. It needs to have a lanyard hole in the handle. Something that he could tie to his belt so it is more difficult to drop. All help is greatly appreciated.

Get a Scuba Pro. IMO they are the best dive knives around. A good one will run you about $120.

I think Ti is great for working around explosives, but if you're just looking for something that will work and be somewhat corrision resistant, you can get 4 or 5 SS knives for the price of a Ti knife. Dollars to duniuts you will lose a few before you wear them out. I'd rather lose & replace a $30 knife.

SOG Seal Pup would work well. The blade coating makes it pretty rust resistant.
