Hi guys, i do not know if i am posting in the right forum but if i am please forgive me.
I am looking for a diving knife, fixed blade not folder, with rust resistance and a blade to keep an edge in salt water. i am looking for a point or tanto blade with serrations. Who can help me to find one? please reccomend something except mission titanium, it is very expensive knife for me. who has experience in salt water enviroments and divings?

Benchmade 100sh20 or crkt ABC aqua or ABC operator.

benchmade has not a pointed blade and crkt abc is not for saltwater i used it and the results were not so good, after 1 hour diving and with no cutting it rusted immediatelly and the edge was destroyed my friend, very bud experience. I can say that aus-8 is not for saltwater.

The SOG Seal 2000 is a great diving knife. Give it a whirl

Do you have experience with that knife? have you use it in saltwater conditions? i know that knife but i do not believe that the aus-6 blade will be perfect in corrosion.

I dive with it in a Blade-Tech sheath mounted to the front of my BCD with nylon ties. After quite a few years there is only slight rust on the edge. The powder coating has held up. I don't use it for anything else but diving, though.

My dive knives have been some of the least used pieces of equipment I've carried with me underwater. I've pried a few things, cut some old rope off an discarded anchor, cut up fruit during surface intervals, but that's it. No shark or gator stabbings to date.

My favorite is an 8 year old Tusa dive knife with a 2"+ long blade that has a blunt tip, a plain edge on one side and serrated on the other with a monofiliament cutter at the bottom of the serrated edge. It's made of 304 Stainless (??) and with good rinsings and a little silicone spray every now and then, has never rusted. I tie-wrapped it to my BC long ago and it has been there ready to go ever since...

Benchmade makes a great dive knife out of H-1 steel which according to them is 100% corrosion resistant - even in saltwater. My Brother in law sailed through the Virgin Islands last summer and used 2 Benchmade River/Dive Knives for two weeks diving in the Caribbean and never had one speck of rust show up on the blades.

Have you checked out the UK Blue Tang offerings?

no i haven't but i will check it, have you experience with it? after a search in the web i found out that the blade from hydralloy that they use do not rust and holds an edge well, is it true?

I believe the Blue Tangs are available in either Hydralloy or titanium. My girlfriend purchased a Hydralloy version last year, and it seems to be a nice value. I haven't done any cutting with it, but it appears to be of good quality, and the steel should be quite corrosion-resistant. It also disassembles for rinsing/cleaning. If you're looking for a low-cost option, I would certainly consider one of these.

Do you know if they will offer one of the sides SE and the other PE on the new Spyderco Dive Knife? That would make a much better dive knife.
