Divots on a Moonglow

I picked up a Moonglow Manix about 7 months back and have enjoyed using it. I like how the clip holds it securely in my pocket while the smoother scales let it slide easily out of my pocket without all the grab and pull I get from the G10 version. The handle shape is ergonomic enough that once in hand it is very secure. The problem come when I transition from my pocket to an opening grip. I really have to be careful not to fumble the knife when trying to get it open. I was thinking a few strategically place divot would solve this problem, but I don't know how the Moonglow would react to a round diamond bit and I sure would hate to mess it up. Part of me wonders if a series of divots would even make that much of a difference. Has anyone tried this or have any suggestions?
