I found a old pair of cheap handles and I went through my balisong graveyard box of broken knives and created a silver handled bali with a razor sharp Dixie knife works blade (already cut me twice)very good quality blade steel .I also have to give CLAY credit because I use his repinning methods also .I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these knives ? the tang stamp reads "DIXIE knife works" ,ther no country or company .The handles are diecast (mine lasted 14 months of hard use ) and the blade is really good steel and reminds me of a bear balisong blade .

I've got one of the Dixie Knifeworks 3" copies of the PC68. You're right - the bladesteel is really good, and I like the thickness of the blade too - but the handles they originally came with were drek! Very soft material that would wear out in a matter of days of hard use. On mine the tang pin has pretty much worn thru the pockets in the handles - so its wobbly when open.

Don't know much more about them - I found mine thru guy that knew a guy that knew a guy.......

I don't have pics, but there is almost always a big stack of them at this one gun show I go to every couple of months. I'll see if I can bring a camera next time. Seems like they don't run too much either.

I think they were made in Tennessee, but I'm not sure. They are not very much money and I believe I used to see them for sale in the Smokey Mountain Knife Works catalogue years ago. They look like the chrome cheapies, but as mentioned the blades appear to be of better quality. I haven't seen one in a while. If I were to bet on it, I'd say the blades were made of 440A or something comparable. The reason why I say that is because I think they only sold for about $15. I'm sure someone else has more info.
