DIY Injection molding?

Does anyone have any idea how to get started with injection molding of plastics? I'm wondering if this is a suitable method for putting handles on. Stuff like how toxic would it be, are there low cost solutions available, can it be done "on a budget."

I'm not sure if it's the right way for me to go, but does anyone have a resource (book, web site, etc) that I can use to start research?

check out this URL. www.bronzefoundry.com This guy is a friend of mine (neighbor too!) who's not a knifemaker, but is an Artist who does a great deal of casting. Read his webpage and there should be some good info there.No promises because he's constantly changing it. If you don't find what you're looking for, email him and tell him what you want to do. he can tell you where to get info/supplies etc. This guy does amazing things with plastic.
BTW He made a limited run of bronze "knife" letter openers and if you've ever wanted to find out how well bronze blades cut (magic) you should get one of these and sharpen it up. Pretty neat!
