DIY Leather hardener?

What is the best solution in order to make a leather hardener? I know some use shellac, but what is the mix ratio? Are there any good videos on the web which show how to get a good result in order to get a nice and smooth knife sheath?

This tutorial will give ya the low down. Baking will give your sheaths a firmness that lasts through use in the real world:

Be careful though and follow the instructions carefully or ya can make sheath jerky! I know, I have when I forgot about a batch baking! Anything that has been wet molded gets baked. Sheaths and holsters mostly:
