Just wondering if anyone here has tried this on blade steel or other items etc... I made a home made coffee can tumbler and used various rocks and stones too try to achieve the aggressive pattern like on the Ritter knives.. The best media I have come up with to use is a coarse bench grinder stone broke into small pieces and used in the tumbler.. This gives a good rough aggressive patter to the steel..

I will post up pics of my tumbler and blade finish later .. Just curious if anyone else on here has tried this and would like to share some ideas as well ..

Sorry man, but this sounds like a guaranteed method to damage the edge of every knife you own.

You could always just pick up some real ceramic media. It's readily available from jewelry supply catalogs. There are various shapes and textures to accommodate your needs.

You'd have to grind the edge off and then put a new one back on. Production companies stonewash before the edge is ground. If you're doing multiple blades, put a bolt though the tang hole to keep the blades from sticking together.
