Some of you may know DKBrown is an Izula owner serving in Afghanistan. I assumed he was in the U.S military and wanted to make a belt sheath for his Izula. Turns out he's in the Canadian military but I still wanted to hook him up since Canadians are our allies and he's a fellow Rat user. This was my first attempt at a belt clip, I hope it serves him well.
BTW I broke my computer desk and maybe part of my keyboard because I got so mad at photobucket. Every upload failed with no explanation and no help. If anyone has any picture tips, my temper would surely appreciate it. (I figured out for some reason Mozilla was the problem and Internet Explorer worked fine with photobucket)

Nice sheath, I especially like how you did the belt attachment.

Good on you for supporting the troops in Afghanistan, they deserve it, no matter which of our allies they are fighting for. If there were more people with your mindset, the country would be a lot better off.

As a fellow Canadian I thank DK for his service, and I thank Hoopster for supporting our troops with this project.

Nice sheath, never seen one folded like that before, and it makes so much sense. Gotta try making pocket clips like that sometime. You just fold it over 1.5inch barstock?

Thanks for acknowledging Canada's part.

It's actually a 1 3/4" template I made out of masonite. I also have one for 1.5" belts.

Since this was my first one of this style, there are a few things I'd do differently in the future. Mainly, I don't think this one can be set up for horizontal carry. Just tip up or tip down. Overall I'm pretty happy with it and it's DKBrown's if he approves of it.

Hey Hoopster! Thanks for everything man, looks like a fantastic piece of work you did! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, i've been stacked and really busy, but i'll send you an e-mail or PM with my address when I get the chance!
Can't say it enough, thanks a ton, and that sheath looks really great, I can't wait to put it through its paces!

That was really nice of you Hoopster. Last time I made something was a medicine bag for my boy scout merit badge. How long did it take ya?

The sheath looks like it will serve well, pretty robust lookin. I like it :)

Thanks to DK for your service, be safe and get back home and let us know how the sheath and Izula worked out for ya!

No problem, I figured you have a lot going on. I hope it works out for you, it's not to bad for my first try at this style.

It takes about 1 1/2 hour from preheating the oven and cutting the kydex to the final edge sanding and polish. Although it can vary quite a bit. It's much more efficient to do a handful at a time.

Wow very nice work. I have been wanting to learn how to do kydex for a while. But i havent got around to it :(

OK Mr. Brown, it shipped today! I sure hope it makes it to Kabul by way of Canada. I was able to drill a few more holes and adapt it for horizontal carry also if that floats your boat. Check your visitor messages for some more info on the clip itself.
Take care!
