DLC coalting info?

I may or may not buy a Para2 with the DLC coat, but dose anyone know if it is food safe?

I use my delica ffg for food all the time and, I want the Para2 blackG10 DLC model but, I may go with the satin.


Is the DLC coat food safe?

The DLC isn't going to be coming off and should be fine to cut food. What it isn't good for is corrosion protection. It will allow a blade to rust right through. Looks pretty strange to see a coated blade with rust 'growing' right through. It will wipe right off but I would imagine a lot of rust will deteriorate the foundation for the coating and it will come off eventually. On a stainless blade this shouldn't be much of an issue.

Yea spydercos dlc isn't going anywhere, s30v is very corrosion resistant no need for a dlc blade , unless you just like the looks more, but if your getting a dlc blade for fear of rusting or something like that have no fear with s30v.
