I recently took apart my blacked out Military as it was gritty. Upon disassembly, I realize that it doesn't use bronze washers like my other Military. This is because the coating makes the blade thicker and the bronze washers just wouldn't work. I am perfectly fine with this as the blade deployment is pretty smooth but I just want to know what they're made of. Thanks

I cannot answer your question but both my DLC Coated and Camo G-10 Military's came with Phosphorus Bronze washers

Maybe it's a new thing they're doing?

I was thinking the Nylatron washers were from older knives and have since switched to PB washers. I could be way off base here, though.

So, I assume Spyderco has a special handle for the DLC Military that would accommodate the thicker coated blade and washers.

I have a military that also doesn't have pb bushings in it. Never thought much about it though bc it's been a great knife to me. It is weird tho.
