I have a $100 bill that is going toward a Christmas gift for myself. Upon searching different sites and who knows how many knives in that range, I have found 2 that I am kind of excited about. Both are Buck 110's that say they are DLT exclusives. I read that they work with Buck and their special projects. Was curious if there are only making so many for DLT or what the exclusive actually means to them. Just the only place you can purchase them? I guess what I am really asking is if these are collectables that I probably won't see if I hold off for a while. I am thinking of getting both either way. Just wondering if "exclusive" means the same as "collectable" like, say Hot Wheels collectables where they still make millions of and put those words on it as a promotion. I do like the s35vn and 20cv though.

Typically, an exclusive is made for one distributor only. In this case, Buck is making the knives you’re looking at for DLT only. They won’t make that same knife for other dealers. That’s not to say other dealers don’t have exclusive knives made for them. The requested materials, steel, finish is what makes it an exclusive. It’s not necessarily a collectible because the knives are made in small batches and will be available when another batch is ordered. That may be a while, and usually is depending on the makers schedule. It may be a year before you see that knife again.

These are commonly termed, SFO's, Special Factory Orders. DLT, who has a BladeForums Dealer Membership, contracted with Buck to make a specific pattern to their specifications. Blade steel, blade shape, handle material, and bolster material. All of the knives of that particular order were shipped to DLT. Maybe some time in the future, some other dealer will order exactly the same set of options. But right now, those are only available from DLT.

Is it the ultimate hunter? I like the one with micarta scales, nice buck to own with the s35vn! I been wanting one actually.
