Well, I did get the prior notification that Russ would be posting an available hunter on his site today. However, just like with Don Fogg, the time it remained available could be measured in nanoseconds and I was a few nanoseconds too slow. Congrats to the new owner, whomever the speedy bastid might be.

Here is the knife:

And a brief description from Russ' site: http://russandrewscustomknives.com/

"This is the first example of a new hunter pattern I've been working on. The blade's 1084 and 15N20. The guard and spacer are NS, and the grip is Amboyna Burl."

Nice one Russ! The amboyna is positively stunning.

Very nice Russ. i agree with Roger, that is a stunning piece of wood. I like the blade shape and swedge.

Very nicely done! That burl is mesmerizing.:thumbup:

Man, that's super nice. Now I'm still waiting for one of our resident crank collectors to comment on the use of the Evil Nickel Silver for the guard.:p:D

I appreciate Russ putting this available hunter up on his website. Really look forward to receiving it. He is going to make a nice belt loop sheath for it and then I will give a hands-on report.

Having an occasional available knife from makers who stay backed up with orders is a real positive for everybody.

Thanks, Russ!
