easy to find Dmitri's stuff on google. There's plenty of it - and a lot is linked to his blog.
The short and sweet- he is predicting a full on failure of the US economy that will impact government functionality and fuel deliveries.
On his side: he has been through this- and he draws a lot of parallels with his experience of Russia.
BUT- he fails utterly to undestand the sheer scope of the US in terms of regionality, social differences, and size. Most East coast denizens do, honestly, and foreign transplants from across the pond are worse.
He also fails to understand the level to which we, as a whole, are still armed. That's going away, slowly, but on the whole you simply won't see a bunch of out of work cops deciding to live in your house. Seeing them start running organized crime is possible. The 'unpaid military' thing is also way out of whack- he comes from a conscription based military situation and doesn't understand our military at all.
And last, he doesn't really get, in his bones, the level to which many Americans practice a worship of the forms of law and government. (this actually works against us in adapting to Depression scenarios)
oh, and having lived on boats, I can say with certainty that he knows dick-all about storage volume and capacity. Bolger's boats are great weekenders but suck balls for cubic.
His stuff is worth reading and thinking about- especially if you set out to check his suppositions and critically consider his views - he does, in the end, have more experience with economic collapse than most Americans.
I can see certain aspects of his scenarios becoming the norm in specific regional cases, but not on a complete national level.
