I just got my Edge Pro as an upgrade from my DMT Aligner. I like the system, but the stones were a bit of a shock coming from the diamonds. I've ordered the two-sided 6x2 Diasharps in XC/C and F/EF as a remedy, as I've seen them used on the EP before.
My question now is whether or not these have to be mounted to an EP blank to be used properly. The thickness of the DMTs seems small enough to be held securely by the jaws, but I was just wondering what was common practice.
If they are usually mounted to blanks, how is it done? with two-sided stones, I'm thinking magnets embedded in the blank would be the only solution.
Or should I just cancel the order and go with some other stones? I'm looking for low-maintenance, hence the appeal of diamond.
