Hey guys - looking for x-coarse to xx-fine fine set of continuous 8" plates. I'm looking to buy but prices are all over the place. Anyone please PM or email me if you know where the best place & price to buy the whole set please?

I've been using dia-folds but they're a little cramped on longer blades...lol :)

Thanks

I got advice on a good source for the Dia-Sharp plates. Do you guys who use DMT's think I need an extra, extra, coarse stone for sharpening folding knives?

I don't trash my knives and the hardest steels I own are S30V, CTS-XHP and D2. I'm thinking extra coarse to extra, extra fine should be fine. How about you?

That range should work well. The Extra Extra Course is recommended for flattening water stones or repairing a very damaged edge. For general maintenance, you will probably get by with the fine and extra fine. I doubt you will reach for the course/extra course very often.

I would appreciate a source on this as well. I got the 6" stones but am looking for good prices on 8".

Thanks

The XXC isn't that good for folding knives, in my opinion. The corners of the stone are rounded, so if you're sharpening knives with an edge that goes all the way to the kick, then you're going to lose about 1/8 inch of cutting edge, and it's going to end up with a slight recurve.

Thanks guys, I'm going to get the x-coarse, coarse, fine, x-fine and xx-fine. That chould do it! Thanks to Knifenut1013 for his assistance too! :D

I just realized that you probably can't post links of said item. If someone please email me i would really appreciate it.

I've made a few recent purchases from chefs knives to go, great selection of sharpening stones ;)

There are the best prices I found.

I bought a couple at your cornerstore.com but they seem to be out of stock right now.
