I own a Kershaw Blur, and I love the recurve blade on it, very functional, not to mention it looks wicked.
I also own a DMT aligner Deluxe Kit, with 3 grits of diamond stones. I've been just sharpening it like a normal blade...but now I wonder, should I be sharpening it with a special technique, accounting for the recurve?

Yes, you should be using the curved stone for the DMT Aligner. I hear it's not that great a tool for sharpening recurves because it is too big, but if you aren't using a humped stone or a rod, you aren't sharpening the recurve.

If you don't have the curved stone, the Deluxe kit should come with a sharpening rod. The recurve on a Blur is pretty shallow, so you only need to use the rod on about 1/5 of the edge closest to the handle anyway. You can sharpen the rest with the stones.
