I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me if Dmt sharpeners are worth the money. ALso, If i were to buy the double sided sharpen, SHould i get fine and x-fine or course and fine?
thanks
luke
As for which grit to get, it depends on what kind of finish you want. The x-fine is like a piece of glass. It will produce a very polished edge which will push cut very well and slice very poorly.

Well, I use the regular/fine DMT hone, and have no problem push cutting or slicing with a very fine edge, on food, game (skinning, etc.) or carving wood. A coarser edge might work better on tough fibre like rope, however.
