DMT + Hand sanding on my D2 710

I really had no idea when I started other than I wanted to get rid of the factory finish, and have striations going lengthwise instead of top-to-bottom. I started using a DMT Coarse to flatten the sides of the knife then to flatten the factory grind lines, then went over the v-grind with a DMT medium, then hand sanded the entire knife with 1000 grit sand paper, and finished by running a spyderco fine stone down along the grain of the v-grind. I'm still working on putting an edge back on it, but I like the results. Additionally, within 24 hours of finishing, the steel now has a blue hue to it when you reflect light off it.

I'm considering doing a forced patina with mustard, but thus far, I like the new finish.

Please criticize or comment, so I can do a better job next time around.

Looks pretty sweet. I bet if you continued with higher grits and perhaps put some new scales on it, it would look like a semi-custom IMO

the finish looks very nice, the 710 is one beautiful knife, and i bet it would look even better with a patina.
can we have pics of the entire knife ?

D2 is pretty close to being a stainless steel so I'd bet that you'd have a heck of a time putting any kind of a patina on it.
