Hi Guys,

Anybody know where I can get a DMT Sapphire polishing stone ?
You guys probably don't know but DMT discontinued this hone.
Iwould like to maybe find one anyway.

Just to mentioned I ordered my Hard felt deburring block and now just need some diamond spray. Any recomened what size diamond spray I should ordre for the final step. I've seen people talk about 1 micron and smaller .

I would like to get the one that would deliver the best edge.

Lansky sapphire? They are available on ebay, amazon, sharpeningsupplies.com, and more. The closest to sapphire DMT makes is the ceramic alumina hones.

What grit stone are you finishing with before going to diamond spray?
 
There might be an issue with terminology here. Aluminum Oxide found in the natural world is a sapphire... unless it is red and then it's a ruby. Aluminum Oxide is also called Corundum or Alumina. It can be confusing when all of these names are used to describe stones made of the same material, aluminum oxide. AO is way softer than diamond, which DMT mostly purveys.

Personally, I love using AO as a finishing abrasive. But you don't necessarily need to use a discontinued dmt variety. AO stones are widely available.
