I ordered a 2 side DMT stone in coarse/fine, but they sent me a fine/extra fine. I called but they don't even have the coarse/fine.
My question is... Do I return it, or do I deal with learning on the fine/extra fine?

What size stone? If it's a bench stone my advice would be to send it back and get single sided stones of the grit you need. If it's an aligner or diafolds id say keep it and use it for touch ups.

Which model# did you order? DMT does have certain versions of their line in a Coarse/Fine combo; specifically, in their 'Duo-Sharp' line (interrupted surface bench stones in 8" and larger) and in a Diafold model (interrupted surface blue/red version). The 'Dia-Sharp' continuous surface hones in a 6"x2" doublesided format only come in either XC/C or F/EF.

Any of DMT's line is good. Whether you choose to keep what you got, or return it, is up to you. If you wanted a coarse option for major edge repairs and rebevelling, the Coarse/Fine would be more useful. If you're just wanting it to maintain & touchup edges, the Fine/EF is quite good for that.

It's a diafold with the clear arms that go over it. thanks guys for the advice

Those diafolds are extremely handy to have and travel really well. Of course it all comes down to what you need. If you really need the coarse bench stone for reprofiling/repairing damaged edges then I'd suggest to send the diafold back. If you can spare the extra expense to keep it, I can assure you will find a place for it in your sharpening kit.
