help i need some diamond stones for my edgepro.can any one tell me where i can get diamond or good ceramic stones to fit my edge pro?

The stones it comes with are ceramic, but I actually just emailed EdgePro last night about diamond stones. So, an answer for that question may be coming soon.

E_utopia i am sharpening cpm15v and i found that the stock stones in my edgepro don't seem to work all that well.i think that diamond would be the answer.if you find any diamond stones that fit your edgepro PLEASE let me know.

This is what Ben Dale of EdgePro has to say:

DMT does not make a diamond to fit the Edge Pro but Easy-Lap does. You want a model 44 without the paddle. If you order a 1" by 6" diamond they will send you a model 41 and they are 1/4" thick. The 44 is 1/8" thick and works much better. They come in Coarse- 80, Med.-270 and Fine-600. They cut much more aggressively then the my stones at first but if you use them on knife steel they wear out very fast. If you use them on carbide , ceramic or other really hard stuff they will last forever. The problem seems to be that on the hard stuff the diamonds just ride along on the points but on a knife the diamonds sink into the steel the steel wraps around the diamond and rips them off the plate. The last one I tested, the DMT Super Coarse, lasted for 10 knives and did not cut as fast as my coarse which will last for 20 to 30 knives and cost less than half as much. I just heard they have discontinued it. You will need to order a Stone Blank to mount the Easy-Lap $2. each. I would go with the med. because the coarser the diamond the faster the diamonds pull off and when you use it. Also use as little pressure as possible to make it last. If you ask DMT or Easy-Lap they will tell you this won't happen, but I can tell you from testing every diamond on the market and always having the same results that it will happen. The other thing I don't like about diamonds is they create 3 or 4 times more burr than a stone so you always loose a lot more metal off the knife every time you use one. To prevent this just use the diamond to cut the bevel, then switch to a stone before you get a burr. Easy-Lap 702-888-9500.
Let me know how you make out.
Ben

How's that?

I noticed the diamonds going away fairly quickly on an Ezelap stone too. I typically use silicon carbide as a coarse stone as the surface replenishes itself, even though it doesn't cut as fast a new diamond stones, and use a set of three to keep them flat by grinding them against one another as required.

Anyone tried the Norton diamond stones ? They look good and Norton typically makes good stuff.
