Looking to purchase some DMT Diamond stones for freehand sharpening. Have most other types of stones including 1000/6000 King Japeneese combo stone and strops which I would use to finish the edge. Any thoughts on this set or sugest other DMT stones? Stones are 6" x 2"

If you are talking DMT make sure you get the Dia-Sharp stones. These are solid not waffled. Dura-sharp are the waffled stones. You only get about half the cutting surface.

The 8x3 Diasharp 325 and 600 grit are musts. The 120 is great for lapping waterstones.

Go for the 11.5 x 2.5 stones. Buy them once and be done with it. Don't get one because it was cheap and then regret getting the ones you know you should have gotten.

These are the Dura-sharp . Glad I asked here.

Done that before and don't want to do it again. Thanks
