DNS/cookies Bug

I found a bug with the DNS configuration of the site since the switch over to the new server. Previously, pointing one's browser to either http://www.bladeforums.com OR http://bladeforums.com would recognize your login. However, since the move to the new server, the version without the www no longer works. This seems to be an issue with how cookies are accessed. If you go to http://bladeforums.com and log in, you will be redirected to the login page again, with your login not registering. Do the same thing with the www added, and all works fine.

Not a major bug, but the source of much frustration when I was having trouble figuring out why bladeforums showed as logged in on some of my bookmarks and logged out on others. Just a heads up.

It's only a problem with the front-page login form. Visiting http://bladeforums.com then looking at the source, the login form tag is this:

<form action="http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/login.php?do=login" ...

That would need to have the same domain as the visited page in order to work properly.

If you instead go to http://bladeforums.com/forums/ and view source, you'll see
<form action="login.php?do=login" ...

which obviously works better.

It could be a vBadvanced setting.

We're working on setting up a 301 redirect to fix this

Damn CentOS is screwing things up. That was the 500 server error you may have seen earlier.

I'm surprised all of Louisville didnt hear me scream in terror when that happened. I was trying to submit a post i would have to spend hours making again if it was lost.
