Do’s & Don’ts of Knives

The list does make a lot of since, more common since really.

Basically a list of common sense/courtesy things leading up to an excuse to link to their store.

DON'T stab yourself in the eye!
DO buy our stuff.

:D

Don't store knives in leather sheaths? I thought that was the point for thousands of years with knives and swords?

I've been storing clean knives in leather ever since the 70's. It hasn't been a problem for me.

No. You do not store a knife in a leather sheath.

Don't forget that part about knife gospel...

I had a Buck 119 stored in its leather sheath for YEARS, only place that got light rusting was the fuller and that's because the finish was so much more coarse there. It all depends on the sheath and the knife, the reason leather sheaths will corrode steel is because they keep moisture very close to the blade. A leather sheath like that on a Buck 119 breathes, and not to mention it is made of 420HC so it's more corrosion resistant than carbon steel, which was probably the more common steel being corroded by leather sheaths.

That's the thing. I've been storing knives in their leather sheaths for years and none of them rusted or showed any signs of rust anywhere.

So far I am confused on where China is made and not sure about the leather sheath storage concern! As for the rest, I agree with everyone else, it seems like a plug and common sense!
