This ain't much, but I'll not do anything with it.

Imperial R.I. Scout knife.

Scales are good and emblem on scale is strong as is the blade etching. Blades are tight. No wobble. Snap is ok but will be much better after soaking/cleaning. Springs, liners, and bail are rusted. Needs some TLC and cleaning. I haven't soaked it or even tried to clean it.

Just post you're in and what you'd do with it, and I'll later select a winner by random number generator.

My youngest is about to go up to Scouts from Cubs.
We are off on a camping hike this weekend in Nattai National park to the south west of Sydney.
16 km in and out.
I reckon its gonna be freezing.
Should be good tho.
It would go to him when he goes up.
after a spa .
cheers

Not an entry (I have plenty of SAKS and scouts, so I couldn't hope to use it) But I really hope to see it go to a young scout, that can get a bit of decent use out of it.

I'm in, your knife reminds me very much of my first scout knife. I would love to have the chance to clean up that gem and give it a second chance at life. Thanks for the opportunity.

Nice knife Leghog  Not an entry, but thanks for the giveaway and good luck everyone :)

It would be an honor to fix this up! I'd most likely give it to my son, thanks for the opportunity!

I'm in! If I win I will give it the TLC it deserves and put it to work. I am pretty sure I can find a place for it in my EDC rotation.

I'm doing a giveaway in my own scout troop with but with a swisstool instead. I recently found a old SAK about a month ago. Its a 1950s officer model. Felt real good cleaning it up and refurbishing it and after putting on a keen edge its apart of my edc.

That would be a great knife for any scout.

Not an entry btw

Soak it and wash it with dish liquid, flood with mineral oil and work the joints, clean up, sharpena dn then pocket carry for 6 months cutting twine, rope and whittling. The awl would see use in the workshop as a reamer on my walking stick lanyards.

Hahaha its been like twenty years since I was a scout. I would clean it up with my nephew and givebit to him when he transitions from cub to boy scout

Anymore interest? If not, I'll close this and let a random number generator select a winner later this weekend.

I am in for boys in my family (12 and 13) who need to get outdoors and away from television screen. I will take them out and show them how to us the knife.;)

Not an entry. Great GAW ... I remember when my son sold enough popcorn to earn that exact knife (if memory serves me correctly). He's still got his - circa 1988. It went to Afghanistan with him and back again.

monstrum, you're the winner. PM me your snail mail addy and I'll get to you next week.
