Do all scales eventually darken?

I know that wood and micarta scales darken with time, exposure and usage. And I would assume the same in regards to stag and bone. What about colored FRN, G10 or carbon fiber? How about mineral scales (e.g., turquoise stones)?
Thanks in advance.

Basically, anything that will corrode, oxydize, get dirty, soak up grease, or degrade, will darken over time. But G-10 and FRN should be almost impervious to this. I don't know anything about carbon fiber. Stone can darken.

Remember, a lot of the materials that darken can also be cleaned.

white micarta darkens to a wonderful colour reminiscent of ivory. I rather like handles that show some sign of seasoning... gives a knife some character.

Plain old Windex and a soft cloth work great to clean micarta handles -- just spray it on the handles, and rub down with a cloth. Paper towels tend to leave a lot of lint and pieces on textured micarta, though. This also works well on G-10 handles, too.
