Do any blank suppliers leave square stock at the grip?

Basically I want a 3.5 spear point already hardened but one where I can cut the grip area to fit my needs. Do any suppliers do that?

If I understand the question, he wants a blade profile ground on a piece of flat stock and the handle part left unshaped. If that is the question, the answer is No.

You would have to get that custom done. You would also have to deal with the handle being hardened already when you tried to shape it. If you found a maker willing to do the custom grinding, just give him/her the handle shape you want along with the blade shape.

Or do a hidden tang blank? You would have full freedom of the handle shape. A Puukko style blank would probably be able to me modified for what you are looking for!

yocan,
Fill out your profile so we know where you live. There might be a nearby maker who could help you.
Also, post a sketch of what you want to make.
