I got my yahoo customized radio on right now, jammin' to some SRV:thumbup:

It beats the monotony & silence, especially when they're playing good music.

Now they're playing Alice in chains:D off "jar of flies"

I got a helluva playlist,if I don't mind saying so myself:D

Anyway thought I'd throw this out there.Sure a lot of you young guys already know about this.:o

Occasionally I do,sometimes I stream a radio station out of Scranton,PA,sometimes a Yahoo station,if they are playing music that you don't like, just hit the "don't ever play that again" button, after a day or 2 of that, and rating some songs that you like,it'll be playing mostly songs that you like.

Listening to Offspring right now.
Mostly a variety of metal normally; old Metallica, Megadeth, Fear Factory, White Zombie and others, with an occasional smattering of "alternative" thrown in(hey, I had my teen years during the 90's:)).
Think I've found about 9 rap songs that are neat---no country though.
Pretty much never from the radio though; I'm a CD/MP3 kinda guy.

I've been fooling with a relatively new service called Pandora:

http://www.pandora.com/

Seems to work very well; plug in the name of an artist or song and the thing not only plays cuts by your artist but by similar artists in the same genre.
I put in "Tom Russell" and the thing puts up a playlist of most all my favorite singer-songwriters.
You can easily create different "stations" with different artists, or mix 'em up for a custom radio station.

I couldn't figure out how the hell they were making any money doing this; there's no flash advertising. However, if you click on the album-icon for any artist, you get an option to buy.

I ain't exactly young, but I generally have Winamp running through my playlist, which tends to drive other people nuts. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with having Bach and Anthrax in the same list. :D

I listen to www.accuradio.com and I like to switch off between very different channels. They have a lot of variety. I think I'll try that Pandora, it sounds like an interesting way to do about the same thing.

My music preference is definately in a wide spectrum. It depends on the mood I'm in.It could be anything from Dido to Pantera to Mozart.:)

The only type of music(if you want to call it that) that makes me physically ill & mentally repulsed is Rap

I feel the same way about Johnny Cash and Bob Marley even if hardly any of my friends get it. But then, I also like some (very selectively) rap music. Go figure, I think it is a byproduct of being a mongrel.

Is what I listen to most every day at work. 98.9theRock (on the radio) for the morning show; and then I switch on the internet radio. I like it because it plays something different, or versions of US songs in other languages or with cover bands.

iTunes or my iPod (yes, Mac products that I actually like, I know it is hard to believe)
Generally it's Bon Jovi. Old or new.
Also some Rush.
The BBC is also always blaring in the background from my XM.

Wow, I don't listen to music at all while cruisin' the net. . . or cruisin' here. My wife has me so convinced that the 'puter will blow up that I don't do anything with something else going on at the same time. (I don't get these new fangled gizmos, though.) My son, however, seems to play music 24/7 on his. The ol' lady seems o.k. with that, however. Go figure. Maybe I should check into it. . . I'd like to crank some Zep, Elmore James, G'n'R, NIN, etc. while doing something else. (My tastes are as varied as probably most of y'alls as well.)
